KEYNOTE ~ The User Revolution and the Boomer Generation

Safa Rashtchy, Managing Director, Senior Internet Analyst,
Piper Jaffray & Co.

A discussion of the User Revolution trend and how the boomer generation is participating in it. For the boomers, the Internet is still primarily a utility tool and the move to become a full media channel requires focus on this generation’s needs: Help this generation to be more efficient and more actively involved in running their live. This is the generation that will freely spend, but it needs customized service. This is also the most sophisticated generation of its age group and it is ready to take control. Simply assuming what this generation needs and trying to sell those products and services will not do. The new, educated boomer generation knows what it needs – the best business models will enable them acquire what they want, and be more efficient.
