Benjamin (Ben) Vandendriessche is President & Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe), dedicated to advancing digital medicine to optimize human health. He has more than a decade of experience in the development of and market access paths for digital health technologies in the US and EU, and their medical applications in research and care delivery. Previously, Ben was Chief Medical Officer at health tech startup Byteflies, which developed and deployed a remote patient monitoring platform for clinical trials and virtual care applications.
He trained in molecular biology, systems physiology, and data analytics for vital sign processing. He completed a PhD in Molecular Biology at Ghent University as an IWT Fellow, followed by a postdoc on the interface of Critical Care Medicine and Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) as a BAEF Fellow. He holds an adjunct assistant professor position at CWRU and publishes regularly on all things digital medicine.
