Greg is an experienced business development executive and investor, having spent 40+ years in the technology start-up markets in Silicon Valley.
Greg enjoys finding and developing new growth markets. He consistently looks for new ways to innovate and improve business management processes.
Some of Greg’s skill include building and maintaining high-performance teams. He has excelled in Sales and Sales Management at such companies as Sun Microsystems, VA Linux, and Calico Technologies. He was the first commissioned sales rep at Sun Microsystems and was responsible for much of the early revenue, early sales-training, and implementation of the early optimization of the sale process. Later in his career at Sun, he implemented the Sun “Quick Ship” program which resulted in a number of new accounts and increased revenue. At VA Linux, Greg grew the revenue by 35X in his first year leading to one of the largest IPOs in history.
Since the VA Linux days, greg has been a teacher, investor and mentor to a number of early stage companies primarily in new technology areas such as RF power transmission, alternative power generation, network security, and marine technology.
Greg has a BS in Physics from the University of California at Davis and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Greg is a MultiEngine Instrument rated pilot with ~2600 hours, an Eagle Scout, and probably will no longer play rugby.
Greg lives with his wife, Dr. Karen Chabrier, in The Villages, Florida. They have 7 children and 8 Grandchildren.
